Summer is most certainly almost upon us in Northern Ireland! The sun has been shining quite magnificently recently, revealing in glorious technicolour the beauty of the natural world.
Three thoughts sprung to mind as I spent some time in our garden over the weekend……. just observing in silence……and feeling the presence of God in all things. The first was the opening line of Gerard Manley Hopkins’ evocative poem ‘Gods Grandeur’: ‘The World is charged with the grandeur of God‘. The second and third thoughts were words of Scripture:
Psalm 104:24 (New International Version, ©2011)
How many are your works, LORD!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
Romans 1:20 (New International Version, ©2011)
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
There is so much beauty around us…….if only we take the time to look….and to listen.
I took some pictures; here they are:
That was a beautiful ‘thought for the day’. And what a beautiful garden you have! Thank you, Scott.
