We would rather be ruined than changed;
We would rather die in our dread
Than climb the cross of the moment
And let our illusions die.
So said W.H. Auden, a man who knew the human condition more than most. The capacity to change is within all of our hearts, but we often fight against it, even when the evidence around us is pointing us in a different direction.
This 6 minute film, uploaded to youtube by Time Magazine, is an exploration of the power of change. Two men, both involved in a hate crime years ago, reunite with a shared mission. Under the auspices of The Museum of Tolerance, what emerges is a powerful story that challenges assumptions, shows change in action and is both heart-warming and uplifting.
